Municipality of Cumberland By-Law 84-06

 


Public Safety By-Law


 

Sec. 1.             No person shall knowingly and unnecessarily discharge any rifle, pistol or other firearm on any public road or highway in this Municipality, nor in the vicinity of any house, hotel, store, shop or other building whatever, nor in, upon or in the neighbourhood of any cultivated field or enclosure in the said Municipality.

 

Sec. 2.             No person shall knowingly set any fire in the public streets, highways, lanes in any village or within any district in this Municipality.

 

Sec. 3.             No person shall at any time fire, discharge or otherwise use outside of his own residence, any air-rifle, air-gun, sling-shot, or other weapon, discharged by compressed air, gas, spring or elastic band mechanism.

 

Sec. 4.             No person shall at any time burn any material in a manner dangerous to persons or property, nor shall any burning material be conveyed or carried, except in containers properly designed to prevent the escape thereof.

 

Sec. 5.             Any person who violates any of the provisions of this By-Law shall upon summary conviction be liable to a penalty not exceeding $100.00 for each offence or, in default of payment, shall be liable to imprisonment for a period not exceeding 10 days.
