Municipality of Cumberland By-Law 84-05

 


Petty Offences By-Law  


 

Sec. 1.             No person shall throw or deposit ashes, cleanings, refuse, dirt, filth, ordure or garbage on any street, road, lane, highway or any private property other than that of the owner of such ashes, cleanings, refuse, dirt, filth, ordure or garbage.

 

Sec. 2.             No person shall knock or pound on any door of any house or ring any door bell for the purpose of annoying the inmates of any house.

 

Sec. 3.             No person shall ring bells, shout or make any unusual noise calculated to annoy the inhabitants in or upon any of the streets, lanes, highways, squares or thoroughfares of the Municipality.

 

Sec. 4.             No person shall encourage dogs to fight on any public street or other public place in the Municipality.

 

Sec. 5.             No person entering private dwellings or places of business within the Municipality shall remain there after having been requested to withdraw.

 

Sec. 6.             No person shall loiter on or around the steps or entrances of buildings, or on roads, streets or sidewalks in the Municipality.

 

Sec. 7.             Every person who violates any of the provisions of this by-law shall upon summary conviction be liable to a penalty not exceeding one hundred dollars and, in default of payment, to imprisonment for a period not exceeding 10 days.
