"The Entrance to Nova Scotia"
The Entrance to Nova Scotia - Canada's Ocean Playground. The starting point of both Sunrise & Gloosecap Trails. District One is a 3-5 mile radius around the Town of Amherst. The area is mainly residential, small business and farming
(dairy, beef, horses & sod-farming). A large marsh area is devoted to migratory bird protection (Amherst Point Migratory Bird Sanctuary) and many acres to Ducks Unlimited for the production of ducks & geese. The Tantramar Marshes are the largest tidal marshes in the world.
We have:
-

- a drive by tourist bureau will be erected in 1998 on Route Number 2 to promote the Glooscap & Sunrise Trails.
