Chewsday Walks & Talks

Cumberland County Museum and Archives is pleased to offer another road trip. This excursion will take us to explore the Bass River area. On this day after Remembrance Day, we’ll visit their Veterans’ Park, Heritage Museum, and the Dominion Chair General Store and Gifts. The unique Veterans’ Park was inspired by a local doctor’s European visit to the Canadian War Memorials and her wish to create a similar memorial in Canada. We’ll see the mock WW I trench and a commemoration to animals killed in the line of duty. Depending on time and interest we can peruse a Great Village Antique shop and/or visit Masstown Market.

Interested? We hope so.

Thursday November 12, we’ll meet at the Museum parking lot (150 Church Street) at 9:30 for a 9:45 departure. We will aim for a 4 pm return. And what do you mean you can’t come because you don’t have transportation? No excuse! Let us know when you book, and we’ll make arrangements to pick you up and deliver you home. Or if you have room in your car, we may need drivers. So please let us know if you are able to able to drive and how many people you can take so we can have the option of carpooling.

What you need to do: reserve by Tuesday November 10 through the museum at 902 667-2561 visit Cumberland County Museum and Archives

What you need to bring: a bagged lunch, warm clothes/mittens, camera, walkingstick/cane.

What will it cost: $10 for members, $15 for non-members; this museum’s entry is free but donations are always welcome.
